Sr. Director/Director Radiopharmaceutical Therapy (RPT)

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced oncology commercial Director/Senior Director who is looking to join RayzeBio in rapidly advancing our commercial presence in radiopharmaceuticals.  Individuals with commercial radiopharmaceutical experience will be preferred.  This will be the first commercial role hired under the SVP, Head of Commercial and Business Operations and will be an opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the RPT commercialization strategy.  This individual may also partner with our colleagues at BMS to benefit from the commercialization capabilities afforded by the broader BMS organization.  This individual will have the opportunity to shape and grow in this role, eventually moving into areas of greater responsibility within the RayzeBio commercial or sales teams.  The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the oncology landscape, a strategic mindset, and a proven track record of successful product commercialization. This role will be based in New Jersey but could also be based in San Diego depending on the current location of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis & Strategy Development:

  • Partner with our Decision, IT and Analytics team to conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape within the radiopharmaceutical sector.
  • Develop and refine the commercialization strategy for the lead radiopharmaceutical assets, including market segmentation, positioning, and value proposition.

Commercial Opportunity Assessment:

  • Evaluate the commercial potential of our pipeline assets and new targets of interest, including target product profiles, market opportunity, access landscape, and revenue forecasts.
  • Identify key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, payers, and patients, and understand referral dynamics, patient flows, and develop strategies for engagement and adoption.

Market Preparation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, regulatory, program management and medical affairs, to ensure alignment of commercialization activities with product development and regulatory timelines.
  • Develop and recommend pre-launch initiatives, including educational programs, market access strategies, and promotional activities to build awareness and readiness.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, industry experts, and potential customers to gather insights and support for the product launch and development.
  • Explore initial engagements with payers and healthcare organizations to facilitate reimbursement and market access.

Commercial Operations:

  • Oversee the development of commercialization plans, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and report on commercialization progress, including key performance indicators and market feedback, to inform strategic adjustments.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, pharmacy, business administration or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is beneficial.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or radiopharmaceutical industry, with a focus on commercialization, market access, or product launch. Experience in pre-launch and launch phases is expected.  Radiopharmaceutical experience is a significant advantage.

Skills and Qualifications:

Beyond having the requisite experience and qualifications, a successful candidate will have high levels of self-motivation, adaptability, critical thinking, analysis, and creative problem-solving. This is a fast-paced position within a fast-paced organization, so the ability to come in and hit the ground running is critical for success in the role.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. 

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

    The starting compensation for this job is a range from $215-290K plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility). The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
