Job Description/Summary
The role offers an opportunity to conduct in vivo imaging studies (Positron Emission Tomography and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) to understand the in vivo behavior of potential RPT therapies. The role is highly technical and will need a person with strong technical expertise in the operation of imaging systems ,data processing and an ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and tight timelines. The role requires an ability and willingness to work with radioactive isotopes.
Job Responsibilities:
- Follow the existing SOPs to operate nuclear medicine imaging modalities (Positron Emission Tomography and Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) which supports the screening, efficacy characterization, and lead-identification of novel RPT agents.
- Establish a close partnership with In Vivo scientists for animal study preparation, special housing, monitoring, and ensuring appropriate in vivo support for experimental work.
- Work closely with Imaging Scientists to support the imaging study needs from animal handling, identification marking, physical monitoring for all imaging experiments.
- Handle dosing, animal monitoring, handling and blood, tissue sample collections as required for the imaging study.
- Support routine maintenance and upkeep of the imaging suite and associated equipment and handle the supply ordering.
Education and Experience
- BS or MS in Veterinarian Science, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Radiological Sciences or a related field with significant portion of work that demonstrates a hands-on familiarity with animal handling techniques.
- 7 years of post BS or 5 years post MS of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech R&D environments
- Experience in working on nuclear medicine imaging modalities such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), or Computed Tomography (CT) is highly desirable.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of animal handling/dosing techniques.
- Hands-on experience in nuclear imaging modalities such as SPECT, CT, PET are highly desired.
- Strong problem-solving skills and time management skills along with an ability to effectively handle parallel workstreams and work within projected timelines.
- Excellent communication skills in a teamwork setting.
